Ovintiv’s Anadarko Operating Area (AOA) has a great opportunity in the Anadarko Basin for a highly motivated individual to work on the Facilities Team as a Construction Coordinator (Mechanical).
The successful individual will collaborate with the entire facilities team and have an uncompromising commitment to excellence and process improvement. We are seeking an individual who consistently demonstrates integrity, works well in a team environment, embraces change, makes sound business recommendations, naturally assumes leadership, and strengthens the team they join.
The ability to work effectively with other professionals with varying levels of experience and from different backgrounds is an essential requirement to be successful in this role.
This position is based in Okarche, Oklahoma and reports to the Superintendent, Facilities Construction.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical construction coordination and supervision of production facilities, pipelines, well connects, gathering lines, and SWD facilities.
- Work closely with the Construction Superintendent and EH&S to reinforce the culture of safety and ensure that Ovintiv’s safety values are an integral component of all construction projects in the Anadarko Basin.
- Work with the Anadarko Basin Construction Manager, peer Construction Coordinators and Facility Engineers to conduct construction reviews, assist in bid package preparation and bid reviews.
- Ensure all construction projects are constructed and turned over to operations in compliance with applicable regulations, codes, Ovintiv corporate standards, and Facilities Engineering design.
- Perform routine inspections of construction projects in progress and evaluate contractor performance and compliance.
- Be proficient in reading construction documents including Scope of Work, P&ID’s, Plan and Sections, Piping Isometrics, Vendor Documents, and others.
- Be able to coordinate the mechanical construction with the electrical and automation work to make projects run smoothly.
- Coordinate pipe valve and fitting materials as well as equipment deliveries.
- Review material orders to ensure accuracy.
- Manage contractor’s scopes to limit change orders and unexpected cost.
- Coordinate work to meet overall schedule on each project.
- Ensure that facility Pre-Startup Safety Reviews PSSR’s and walkthroughs are completed prior to start up and turn over to operations.
- Monitor costs and facility construction cycle times.
- Ensure prompt handling of invoicing, processing, and approvals.
- Prepare and submit monthly cost projections.
Qualifications
- Construction Project Management experience is strongly preferred.
- 5 or more years of construction experience. Experience in oil and gas or related industrial experience is preferred.
- Strong EHS experience/background; must be able to demonstrate leadership competencies with respect to EHS in field operations.
- Experience with construction safe working procedures.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Computer proficiency in Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook), is required and experience with record keeping, written & verbal communication to match.
