CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

WENTZVILLE, MO - PLANT


This is responsible work executing continuous improvement initiatives by the elimination of waste throughout Lear Wentzville with Kaizen, Six Sigma, and other lean techniques.

Incumbents in this position are primarily responsible for monitoring and mapping personnel needs and coordinating with various departments to maintain an adequate ratio of employees in a just in time (JIT) environment.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provides input pertaining to the movement of team members throughout Lear Wentzville
  • Coordinates with departments within Lear Wentzville to determine the correct staffing for operations
  • Conducts Kaizen events for Lear Wentzville
  • Develops strategies for dealing with the anticipated shortages of personnel
  • Manages the Continuous Improvement activities for plant operations by continuing to modify, anticipate staffing needs, and eliminate wastes
  • Work with other departments to establish Continuous Improvement priorities and objectives that support business strategic goals
  • Assists senior management and champions in identifying and prioritizing continuous improvement projects that align with business/functional goals, and strategies, and personnel
  • Leads and establishes priorities for Continuous Improvement personnel and communicate/shares results and lessons learned
  • Acts as a change agent to drive continuous improvement throughout the business
  • Leads Continuous Improvement project reviews
  • Assists leadership in establishing organizational support for continuous Improvement including communication, rewards, and IT Tools
  • Develops and deploys metrics for monitoring progress
  • Identifies, designs, and leads events that will positively impact the plant operations
  • Assists with leading and implementing lean at the front line with initiatives that support the overall lean strategy
  • Applies statistical principles to evaluate and solve process variability problems
  • Builds and leads cross functional process improvement teams to accomplish project deliverables aligned with business goals
  • Participates in continuous improvement events and drive positive changes via team resources
  • Conducts labor improvement studies to reduce labor requirements and improve efficiencies
  • Influences the organization by promoting the use of continuous improvement strategies and tools

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Quality, or other related field in Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing best practices
  • Knowledge of Minitab statistical program to chart results and forecast
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations with dedication to the concepts of continuous improvement
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database functions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and Kaizen events simultaneously
  • Ability to work well in teams and meet deadlines on multiple projects and make daily decisions with minimal guidance
