JOB SUMMARY

Develops, implements, and supports lean manufacturing processes. Facilitates continuous improvement throughout manufacturing worksites. Assists locations in focusing on reducing manufacturing and burden costs. Assesses and eliminates waste and non-value added activities. Supports manufacturing in the implementation of the Magna Production System (MPS). Involved in projects aimed at waste elimination/production efficiencies and establishment of model MPS areas in conjunction with manufacturing sites. Subject matter may include plant floor layout, material-handling routes, service parts, and key future launches. Serves as an advisor to assist and train others on MPS concepts and processes. May lead employee classes related to DPS including, but not limited to, job instruction, standardized work, Just-In-Time, five-step housekeeping processes (5S), and Kaizen. Facilitates continuous improvement project teams to continuously improve processes and give support to areas within the organization. Based upon team/management requests, helps employees through workshops designed to improve work processes to reduce cycle time, inventory, labor hours, scrap, etc. Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Contribute from various disciplines to become change agents for operational excellence.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Works with management to identify and establish project selection criteria with an emphasis on overall process and quality improvement.

· Leads long-term projects aimed at waste elimination/production efficiencies and establishment of Lean Manufacturing areas in conjunction with manufacturing sites. Subject matter may include plant floor layout, material-handling routes, service parts, and key future launches.

· Facilitates continuous improvement project teams to continuously improve processes and give support to areas within the organization. Based upon management requests, leads employees through workshops designed to improve work processes to reduce cycle time, inventory, labor hours, scrap, etc.

· Identify problems in a process, establish and manage projects within the process, evaluate the process and develop potential solutions to improve the process. Applies principles of statistical process control when appropriate. Identifies opportunities for common mistake proofing.

· Maintain a performance measurement tracking mechanism to support project objectives. Review management reports to ensure projects achieve stated goals and support business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Process/product knowledge, basic statistical knowledge, and organization knowledge.

· Strong communication and team leadership skills with demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings.

· Proven success in problem analysis and problem solving.

· Project management skills to lead a team to complete a project.

· Basic PC skills.

· Possess a detailed understanding of customer requirements.

· Understand basic business skills and practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
