Our client, which serves industries such as petroleum exploration and production, oil and gas transportation and storage, petroleum refining and marketing, electric power generation and distribution, ocean shipping, and manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the monthly accounting close process, including the analysis of monthly operating results to ensure the accuracy of accounting records.
Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting schedules accurately and in a timely manner.
Implement, document, and maintain efficient processes for cash applications, close, and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Conduct a thorough analysis of operations from different perspectives such as balance sheet, income statement, bookings, and cash flow, as well as overall business performance.
Provide support for external financial audits.
Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
Provide ad hoc reporting and data analytics.
Train and manage the general accounting staff.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
A CPA qualification is preferred.
At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
Budgeting and forecasting experience.
The ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, operations, internal and external customers.
Strong time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment.
Proficiency in computer skills, with strong attention to detail and work ethic.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced skills in Excel.
Experience with ERP applications is a requirement.
