The award-winning AAA 5-DiamondWaldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a
Controller
to join the Accounting / Finance Team!
Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.
The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and IRD.
In this role, youwill partner with internal and external stakeholders to manage all aspects of property-level accounting and reporting functions while proactively managing and working with the Director of Finance to execute on forecast and budget goals with emphasis on expense management, as well as internal controls required by Hilton policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will be process driven, have strong analytical skills and previous hotel accounting experience.

What will I be doing?
As a Controller, you would be responsible for supervising and directing the financial activities of the hotel, safeguard the assets, and prepares all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Specifically, this includes but is not limited to:
- Serve as a financial advisor to Hotel Management and Ownership.
- Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses of the hotel.
- Assist and counsel department heads in the interpretation of financial data and recommends courses of action to maximize profitability.
- Prepare the annual plan, projections and budgets throughout the year and advise hotel management, corporate office, and owners.
- Interview, train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate staff.

Salary Range:
The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
