The selected individual will be responsible for preparing food following current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by your supervisor to assure quality food service is provided at all times. Specific duties will include:
- Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submits to the Manager.
- Reviews menus before preparation of food.
- Serves and prepares food that is palatable and appetizing in accordance with established portion control procedures, therapeutic diet needs, standardized recipes, special diet needs.
- Ensures that menus are maintained and filed per established policies and procedures.
- Coordinates services with other departments as necessary.
- Assists in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis and ensuring that all procedures are followed per established policies.
- Ensures that all procedures are followed per established policies.
- Assists in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
- Assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability of Cook.
- Assists in establishing a food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
- Knowledgeable of dietary procedures.
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of dietary service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
