We are seeking a professional Cook who can follow established policies and procedures as directed by the Dietary Manager of our assisted living facility.

Mealtimes at our facility are one of the highlights of residents’ days. Our cooks prepare and serve well-balanced, tasty meals in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies. Additionally, they monitor methods of food handling, preparation, storage, meal service and equipment cleaning.

As a cook you will run the kitchen when needed and maintain a clean and sanitary dining hall. Cooks must properly store food items at appropriate temperatures, and rotate stock items as per established procedures. Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen is cleaned, sanitized, and stocked at the end of your shift. Must demonstrate the ability to work well with other staff. Positive attitude and understanding that your role and the nourishment you provide has a direct impact on the quality of people’s everyday lives.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 or older
• Desire to provide excellent customer service
• Excellent references, strong work ethic and a clear background check
• Minimum one year cooking experience preferred, preferably in large quantities and in a healthcare setting
• Able to read and follow standardized recipes
