The INSOMM program endeavors to reduce sex offenses in the State of Indiana through the provision of comprehensive assessment, counseling and monitoring services to incarcerated and paroled sex offenders.
The program is managed by Liberty Healthcare Corporation, an organization well-experienced in the treatment and community monitoring of sexual offenders and other specialized forensic populations.
A full-time “Counselor 2” position is currently available with Liberty’s counseling group based at the New Castle Correctional Facility – a medium security men’s prison located in New Castle, Indiana – about an hour east of Indianapolis.
This position will require you to work directly with adult inmates onsite at the prison, under the supervision of experienced licensed counselors. Your day to day responsibilities will involve:
- Providing basic info to clients on program objectives and structure
- Administering structured behavioral health assessments
- Leading psycho-educational groups
- Co-facilitating sex-offender specific treatment groups
- Monitoring client progress and adherence to program requirements
- Updating notes in client records and participating in team meetings
Your efforts will help clients build skills to discontinue abusive behaviors and enhance their awareness about the adverse impact of sexual abuse – thus enhancing community safety.

You’re a good fit for Liberty Healthcare if you possess a Bachelor’s (or Master's) degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or similar human services field.
Some relevant experience in substance abuse/addictions counseling, jail diversion, or other general counseling service is helpful.
Individuals who are pursuing a Master’s degree – or who already have a Masters degree and are pursuing professional licensure can expect advancement opportunities within our organization. Please note - a professional clinical license is not required for this position.
