Kenjya-Trusant is seeking a System Engineer Level 2 to provide support on a contract in the Annapolis Junction area.

POSITION: Systems Engineer Level 2
LOCATION: Annapolis Junction

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
- Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
- Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
- Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
- Develop technical documentation, System Architecture and System design documentation
- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
- Interact with the DoD regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
- Will have ultimate responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
- Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
- Service Desk/Queue Manager: Administer, triage, manage, monitor, update and give status of working Cybersecurity Technical Need (CSTN) Jira tickets, including the work tickets under them.
- Special Projects: Aid in the coordination of solution development for the Defense Network Operations (DNO) organization. Facilitate, manage, monitor and update CSTN and work tickets related to all prototypes, tools, systems, and special projects that effect the DNO organization. This also involves coordinating and working with other organizations including the Capabilities Directorate.
- System Engineering Team: Assist with problem solving, processes, schedule, risk management, configuration management and system architecture documents.
- Assist with requirements management for all DNO division and sections levels.
- Facilitate meetings, keep minutes and update CSTN tickets and/or Confluence pages. Create and track all special DNO projects to support better efficiencies of tasks and missions.
- Technical Writing: Create and maintain documentation including user's guides and standard operating procedures for Jira administrators, briefing slides for DNO management and training, whitepapers, use cases, and studies on system tools and processes.
- Produce drawings and visuals to assist with written information.
- Fourteen (14) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
- Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
The Level 2 System Engineer (SE) shall possess the following capabilities:
- Confluence & JIRA tools experience needed
- Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.
- Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
- Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
Other Qualification:
- Working with mission and program leads on Power/Space/Cooling (PSC), Acquisition Security Forms (ASF), project management
- Working with the scheduler to manage the milestones and events
- Ordering equipment
- Working with other SEs and the PMO to gather requirements
- Scheduling and attending meetings to gather and provide information to stakeholders
- Manage program documentation
- Use SNOW and JIRA to track tasks
- Work well with a team to accomplish all of the varied tasks while explaining scheduling slips
