As the Education Coordinator, this position coordinates educational programming at Arrowhead Environmental Education Center. This includes but is not limited to supervising one part time employee and volunteers, developing and implementing educational programming for pre-K, K-12, camps and general audiences, evaluating progamming, training staff, and the care of the Arrowhead animal collection. Other responsibilities include inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment, purchasing supplies and materials, completing monthly attendance reports, and assisting in other areas as needed. This position must be able to lift more than 25 lbs., work with animals, and work weekends and/or evenings as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Historical Preservation or a closely related field from an accredited college or university

AND

One year of experience in a directly related field.

OR

Two years of experience required at the lower level Curator/Preservationist 2 (NRP031) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to applicants with:

• Employment experience with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources

• Three years teaching and curriculum writing experience

• An employment history in environmental education

• Training in Project WILD, Project WET, and/or Project Learning Tree

• Two years supervisory experience

• Two years animal care and handling experience
