Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer ISSO

Work Location

· Washington, DC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

· 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, risk management, and information assurance.

· Demonstrated experience with NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework, 800-60, 800-53, 800-53A, FIPS199, and related OMB and NIST guidance.

· Demonstrated experience with system/application security, risk management, information assurance third party management, and risk remediation.

· Demonstrated experience performing risk management activities developing and maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment and Recommendations (RARs), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and developing executive-level briefings.

· Demonstrated experience in Information Technology in Security Engineering.

· Demonstrated experience with network architectures, deployment, and operations.

· Demonstrated experience contributing to the design of security architectures for SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS environments.

· Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are a plus.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure systems and applications are designed and deployed with security controls in mind.

· Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) in accordance with NIST SP 800-18 and other related guidance.

· Conduct security risk assessments and develop Risk Assessment and Recommendations (RARs) in accordance with NIST SP 800-30.

· Develop and maintain Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) in accordance with NIST SP 800-53A.

· Provide guidance and support to system owners and third-party vendors to ensure security controls are implemented and maintained.

· Conduct security control assessments and provide recommendations for remediation.

· Develop and deliver executive-level briefings on cybersecurity posture, risks, and compliance status.

· Develop and implement security controls in accordance with NIST SP 800-53.

· Collaborate with the network engineering team to design and implement network architectures that incorporate security controls.

· Support the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards.

· Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices.
