JOB DESCRIPTION -

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is one of the largest school districts in the United States, serving over 330,000 students in 600+ schools and employing nearly 36,000 people, most of them teachers. CPS has set ambitious goals to ensure that every student, in every school and every neighborhood, has access to a world-class learning experience that prepares each for success in college, career, and civic life. In order to fulfill this mission, we make three commitments to our students, their families, and all Chicagoans: academic progress, financial stability, and integrity. Six core values are embedded within these commitments – student-centered, whole child, equity, academic excellence, community partnership, and continuous learning.

The Chief Education Office (CEdO) establishes the Instructional Core Vision for the District and ensures that students flourish, teachers thrive, and principals lead a focused and effective continuous improvement agenda. This focus includes recommitting to CPS Vision for Academic Progress, including High-Quality Rigorous Instruction, Talented and Empowered Educators, and Supportive Learning Communities. The Chief Education Office shares accountability with schools for achieving excellence and supports school leaders in their unwavering commitment to preparing all CPS students for future success.

Under the direction of the Chief Education Office, the Data Coordinator will support the establishment of the Instructional Core Vision for the District and ensure that students flourish, teachers thrive, principals feel supported, and the city’s educational landscape improves. This position will help advance the change management process inherent in the organizational shift from outcome data to practice data, and support operations and special projects of the Chief Education Office and its six Academic Offices. The Data Coordinator will report to the Senior Advisor to the Chief Education Officer.

  • Network-level data consolidation

    • Establish a strong, frequent, reciprocal feedback loop between Principals and CEdO, maintaining a high level of thoughtfulness, transparency, timeliness, and follow-up in the data capture process.
  • Project support
    • Provide support in managing systems and processes related to the CEdO and CEO offices, as well as the 6 Academic Offices that CEdO oversees, including but not limited to Principal Webinars with CEO and CEdO, Summer Programs After-Action Review, Newcomer Migrant Enrollment, Postsecondary Program Inquiry Project, Intern, and Fellow Hiring and Management.
