This role will support The USCIS Office of Information Technology (OIT), Information Security Division (ISD) by providing professional services, which specialize in the following areas; Governance, Tactical and Security Communications, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Classified Information Security Support, and support for Security Assessment activities as Risk Management Framework for Information Systems and Organizations that will assist the Assessments and Classified Operations Branch (ACOB) to effectively and efficiently execute their mission.

Location

Camp Springs, Maryland (Remote with 1 day per week required on-site)

• Active Secret

Essential Role and Responsibilities

Supports the security control assessment activities associated with reviewing databases, both developed inhouse and open source, used in USCIS applications

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering, or other comparable degree or experience

Experience

• Minimum of seven (7) years in modern database development, upgrading, support and design.
• Experience in establishing performance and statistical monitoring of enterprise databases to include, but not limited to; code review, wellness checks, data integrity, privacy and security scans.
• Experience in supporting cloud database environments, specifically AWS (i.e., EC2, S3 or Redshift) to include backup and archiving of data.

Certification

Industry-recognized certifications such as:

• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA Security+
• CIW Database
• Design Specialist
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional is a plus
