Summary of Job Duties:
1. Provide leadership to the faculty, staff, and students to achieve goals of each program within the division.
2. Provide leadership to the faculty in planning, implementing, and evaluating division educational programs.
3. Plan, allocate, and evaluate budget appropriations for Arts & Sciences programs with input from faculty, staff, and students.
4. Ensure Arts & Sciences (General Education, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, Behavioral Health) programs meet the standards of mandatory and/or voluntary accrediting/approval bodies.
5. Represent the division within the College district as well as at the local and state level.
6. Foster a creative working environment for faculty, staff, and students.
7. Serve as a member of appropriate standing committees.
8. Facilitate the development of programs, policies, and procedures designed to promote the goals of each program within the division.
9. Conduct Arts & Sciences meetings in Phillips County working cooperatively with Arkansas County.
10. Submit required annual college and accrediting agency reports (ADHE Program Reviews).
11. Participate in student recruitment, advising, orientation, and registration.
12. Schedule courses and assign faculty course loads with input from the faculty.
13. Recruit, interview, and recommend faculty and staff for employment.
14. Work with various agencies in developing, updating, or deleting general education courses.
15. Assume teaching responsibilities as required.
16. Participate in professional associations.
17. Function as the Chair of Arts & Sciences in Phillips County.
18. Plan, implement, and evaluate the General Education, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, and Behavioral Health programs in collaboration with faculty.
19. Manage student admission related to advising and retention.
20. Aggregate and trend statistical data related to all programs and program student learning outcomes.
21. Maintain the ongoing assessment of student learning.
22. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in an Arts and Sciences discipline, five years experience teaching in an Arts and sciences discipline, administrative experience at the program or grant level.
