Position Summary

The Demand Planner will report to the Demand Planning Manager and will develop a holistic demand forecast for assigned markets or product lines, including new products, existing products and phase outs. This role will drive the creation and management of the true customer/consumer demand signals by which the organization aligns supply chain and company resources. This role will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This is a high visibility role within the S&OP process.

Key Responsibilities

· Drive a formal weekly unit demand planning process and update forecasts to address the latest demand trends, seasonality, go-to-market plans, changes to promotional calendars, and CPFR input from external stakeholders

· Interact and collaborate with internal team members regarding changes in future demand to ensure customer demands can be fulfilled from production or purchasing

· Improve existing processes and support development of new tools, either individually or in collaboration with other managers and teams

· Partner with internal cross-functional team members to develop strategies to maximize sales opportunities

· Escalate any supply chain related issues for awareness and action using the correct sense of urgency

· Partner and work with business systems team to help develop internal tools to make the demand planning function sustainable and scalable

· Partner with purchasing and planning teams to aggregate supply capacity and constraints to accurately communicate issues and opportunities to meet the demand plan

· Leads and owns ERP master data strategy in support of efficiency and accuracy in plans

· Ability to make timely, accurate decisions to ensure critical business needs and timelines are met

· Actively participate in weekly/monthly S&OP processes and meetings to drive towards a consensus forecast

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or Business

· Must have analytical and mathematical skills to be able to analyze large amounts of data in a timely manner

· 2+ years of Supply Chain experience, preferably in a planning/analysis role. Additional backgrounds like Statistics, Finance or Economics are also considered

· 1-2 years of experience with navigating ERP systems such as JDE, SAP, Oracle

· Proficiency with statistical modeling, or economic and sales forecasting techniques and tools

· Proficiency with Microsoft tools like Excel and Powerpoint

· Experience with big box retail or consumer products industry is a plus

The ideal candidate will also:

· Be detail oriented and highly organized

· Possess strong problem-solving, project management, communication, and analytical skills

· Work with limited supervision; can meet multiple deadlines in time constrained situations
