Our IS4S Niceville / Fort Walton Beach, Florida location is seeking to hire an experienced Systems Design and Hardware Engineer to support a variety of government-funded projects related to open architecture, open systems, autonomy, communication, electronic warfare, and advanced navigation technologies. In particular, we are looking for candidates who are self-starters, teachable, and able to learn new things as they work together with others to solve challenging technical problems. We are especially focused on developing modular open systems that enable rapid prototyping and deployment of real-world systems.

Job Description:
This job requires the applicant to:
- Design and build prototype systems to include Software Defined Radios and associated technologies
- Test prototype communication, PNT, and/or Electronic Warfare systems in operationally relevant test environments
- Learn and make meaningful contributions in a professional work environment
- Work closely with a highly collaborative team of engineers to deliver innovative prototype solutions
- Implement an initial breadboard design and then build this concept to a fully operational prototype while documenting lifecycle sustainment concerns.
- Strong desire to contribute to overall team success
- Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Basic understanding of Software languages like C#, Java, Python, database concepts, HTML, SysML
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related fields
- 10 years engineering experience
- Experience in programming Xilinx RFSoC or related technologies
- Ability to work closely with a small, agile development team
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
Desired Experience:
- Experience using MATLAB
- Experience with CAD Design tools
- Experience in testing prototype communication, EW, or PNT systems in operationally relevant test environments
- Business intelligence
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
