Immaculata University seeks a Digital and Social Media Specialist as part of the University Communications and Marketing team, reporting to the vice president for communications and marketing. The digital and social media specialist is responsible for multimedia digital content creation and social media monitoring and posting to support University-wide marketing initiatives. Digital media content will be produced for various platforms, including web, social media, advertisements, public relations pieces, email campaigns, and more.
The digital and social media specialist contributes to the planning, creation and editing of marketing and advertising efforts to build an engaging experience through digital and traditional channels to reach targeted audiences. The ideal candidate will possess a creative and strategic mindset combined with the skill of storytelling, as well as attention to detail and a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the vice president for communications and marketing to manage photo and video coverage of University events and produce finished photo/video pieces.
  • Produce media consistent with University policies, programs, branding, style, timelines, and deadlines.
  • Manage and monitor all University social media accounts, including creating content, posting, social listening, reporting, and analysis.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and implement social media strategies that generate support for the University.
  • Recruit, engage, and manage student social media ambassadors.
  • Maintain editorial calendar for campus digital needs and social media platforms.
  • Cultivate support for the University by assisting in implementing special events/projects and programs to generate media interest and public recognition for the institution.
  • Conduct research on digital trends and audience preferences.
  • Maintain engagement of University alumni, students, faculty, and staff across digital platforms.
  • React quickly to unplanned University needs that arise as part of campus life.
  • Serve as a professional resource for internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate with team members and other professionals across the University.
  • Capture, create, produce, and edit audio or video electronically.
  • Develop and make recommendations for strategic digital communications and marketing plans.
  • Perform similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements: *

  • Bachelor's degree and portfolio of social media, video and digital content materials.
  • Proficiency in digital design and content creation tools, including ,Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X, and other tools as required.
  • Proficiency in posting to social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.) and with social media scheduling and listening tools (e.g., HootSuite).
  • Working knowledge of web-based content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media advertising, including ability to create and manage ads within social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in planning, framing, and capturing high-quality still photographs and video.
  • Knowledge and understanding of content marketing and SEO.
  • Ability to distill large concepts and story ideas into short format media.
  • Demonstrated commitment to adapt to latest trends and technical skills, and a proven capability and desire to learn quickly.
  • Understanding of brand and marketing strategy and sound news judgment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours to cover campus events and happenings.
