Digital Communications & Connections Coordinator
Flexible Hours: 10 hours per week; Pay: $25 per hour – paid every 2 weeks

Purpose:
This is a great ministry position for the person who wants to touch people’s lives with the redemptive message and love of Jesus using their God-given gifts and skills to oversee our digital ministry presence and to connect people to ministry within FBC and beyond. Duties include oversight, strategy and execution of the strategy on our website and social media channels.
General Responsibilities:
- Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- Commitment to personal spiritual and emotional maturity in Christ.
- Considers this position a ministry more than a job.
- Spend the first 5-10 minutes of one’s work day in a posture of ‘ stillness before the Lord’ (Psalm 46:10)
- Pray and seek God for direction, wisdom, creativity, and guidance on carrying on responsibilities.
- Agreement of the mission, beliefs and values of FBC (see website).
- Desires to become a partner of the church within the next couple of months of hire.
- Maintain good communication and relationships with those inside and outside of FBC. When issues arise address them with biblical guidelines like in Matthew 18:15-20
- Embraces the mission and values of FBC and communicates it well to those at FBC and beyond.
- Has an understanding and commitment to volunteerism in a non-profit or Christian ministry/church.
- Participates in weekly Monday staff meetings (if another job hinders than we understand) and highly preferred to be present on most Sunday worship services and events during the year.
- Flexibility in scheduled work hours and can work from home for most of the hours.
- Self-motivated, ability to anticipate needs and requirements.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create and manage digital content to be leveraged through our social media channels.
- Assess our current digital engagement and then create a 6-12 month digital engagement strategy that gives long & short-term strategies for growing FBC Brewster online reach, effectiveness, digital engagement & discipleship, in collaboration with staff and FBC Leadership Team. This should be done within the first 90 days.
- Design and track engagement metrics to assess the success of our digital presence.
- Be available to engage with people during our Sunday morning livestream.
- Will have a strategic focus to implement onboarding strategies and pathways to help people, including youth, to discover their skills, passion and spiritual gifts to assess where best to get involved and grow in service within the church and/or in the community.
- Process communication cards and respond to people’s questions and inquiries.
- Develop a Connection or Next Steps Center to consistently provide information and next steps that are available for people to grow in their relationship with Christ through volunteer opportunities.
- Engage with people who want to find their place to connect in FBC through phone, email, or in-person.
- Plan with help with others church wide volunteer recognition events.
- Take photos and create videos at various ministry events.
- Develop and manage event calendar planning and communication of those plans to the church.
- Manage church website and social media presence.
- Help with resourcing people towards spiritual growth whether they are connected to FBC online or come on Sunday mornings.

- Loves to leverage social media to make much of Jesus: Has a vision for how social media platforms can be used to empower people with helpful and engaging content. They would be eager to further FBC’s mission and more importantly Jesus’ Kingdom agenda through digital design, pathway to discipleship, content creation and volunteer coordination.
- Team Player: Thrives in a collaborative environment and has a “we” not “me” ministry approach. Has a collaborative, flexible, goal-driven personality.
This position will report to the Senior Pastor. The position is for at least 2 years, could be longer if church budget allows.
