General Description
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance, and training associated with the technology for classrooms, labs, studios, conference rooms, and other academic learning spaces and facilities on campus. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the individual in this position will oversee the Academic Support unit within Information Services and Technology (IS&T) and establish and maintain the daily operations of that unit.
Essential Job Duties
1. Oversee daily operations, budget, and personnel within Academic Support.
2. Provide collaborative, campus-wide leadership and vision in the design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning spaces.
3. Plan and manage all new installations of technology-enhanced classrooms, labs, and other academic spaces across campus.
4. Plan and manage all updates and renovations of technology-enhanced classrooms, labs, and other academic spaces across campus.
5. Collaborate with deans, department chairs, faculty, members of the Technology Advisory Council, venders, contractors, Physical Plant personnel, IS&T personnel. and other stakeholders in the new installation or renovation of technology-enhanced classrooms, labs, and other academic spaces.
6. Oversee lab management in labs supported by Academic Support.
7. Create and implement ongoing training programs for Academic Support staff, Solution Center staff, and end users on classroom technology use and support.
8. Design and implement routine maintenance program for computers and equipment in technology-enhanced classrooms, labs, and other academic spaces across campus.
9. Collaborate with faculty and Malone Center staff on new teaching initiatives related to educational technology.
10. Serve as a liaison to the Technology Advisory Council.
11. Provide regular updates to Asset Manager on classroom-related technology, maintenance agreements, and support requirements.
12. Collaborate with Asset Manager on procurement of relevant technology and equipment.
13. Provide ongoing communication with IS&T leadership team regarding Academic Support projects and initiatives.
14. Develop policies and procedures relevant to Academic Support as needed.
15. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of educational technology and best practices in it’s application on a college campus. Knowledge of Windows, MacOS, and iOS platforms within an academic setting. Ability to (a) manage the planning, installation, and ongoing maintenance of technology-enhanced learning spaces, (b) lead diverse teams, simultaneously working on 4-5 large projects; (b) create project timelines, goals, project documentation, and communication plan; and © work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) and organizational skills; A strong knowledge of standard productivity tools such as: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience with relevant IT certifications. Understanding of projects in an enterprise environment is required, deployment of projects within a higher education environment preferred.
