As the Director of Homologation and Certificaiton you will be responsible for the homologation and certification of all of Mullen Automotive’s passenger vehicle programs. The ideal candidate would have multiple vehicle launch experience as it relates to certificaiton and homologation for US and European markets.

Responsibilities (Included but not limited to):

  • Oversee the homologation and certification of all Mullen Automotive passenger vehicles
  • Responsible for creating and managing the homologation group
  • Develop homologation plans for all vehicles including variants and options
  • Understand full regulatory requirements for North America, Europe and other regions per potential target markets
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and automotive standards, including but limited to F/CMVSS, Mexico, EU, ECE, SAE, ISO, ANSI, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable with standards and certifications
  • Work directly with third party test facilities or similar organization to define product test plans to verify products meet all requirements
  • Serve as subject matter expert for test standards and test protocols
  • Oversee and manage any and all regulatory and safety requirements for the vehicle or its components
  • Coordinate / support test properties (vehicles/components) needed for each test case defined for the program success
  • Review test data results and interpret the data with respect to performance against applicable specifications. If test does not meet expected results, make specific recommendations for product improvement back to engineering team
  • Acquire and maintain a library of applicable test standards
  • Make oral and written presentations (i.e. test results and associated implications)
  • Contribute to product related problem-solving activities
  • Manage product testing activities which require strong cross functional engagement
  • Implement internal and supplier audits of products and protocols * Identify areas of weakness and put in place corrective measures
  • Manage and control documentation related to regulatory certifications
  • Monitor regulatory and compliance changes which affect the business and communicate to the appropriate internal stakeholder
  • Train staff on Regulatory and Compliance topics were needed
  • Establish and maintain system for tracking changes in documents submitted to agencies and third-party labs
  • Review changes to existing products and update the requirements for regulatory submissions
  • Travel will be required to support onsite testing

Other duties as assigned Experience/ Qualifications (included but not limited to):

  • BS in Engineering (Technical Masters Preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years automotive experience
  • Minimum 5 years in complete vehicle homologation experience o Desired EV/ HEV experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience * Understanding of project planning creation o Implementation of planning using software (EX: MS Project) * Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally * Understanding of all vehicle requirements, not only crash and safety
  • Good written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
  • MS Office * MS Project or similar software
  • Basic CATIA Experience
  • Understanding of 3D CAD and capabilities to setup criteria layouts
  • Ability to manage multiple groups and provide mentoring and guidance as needed
  • Proficient in technical and professional writing for legal documentation related to homologation and certification
