Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church Westhampton Beach, NY 11978
Church of Immaculate Conception in Westhampton Beach is seeking a Part-Time Director of Liturgy and Music. This position requires Saturday 5pm and Sunday 9:30am, and 11am with possible additional hours for Holy Days of Obligation, and other parish liturgical celebrations; as well as on-call for weddings and funerals. Will report to the Pastor.
Duties
* Leading and/or accompanying the assembly for the musical component of weekend liturgies and other services
* Guide the selection of music, supervision of volunteer and paid musicians/cantors, and work to implement the parish’s vision of worship with participation of the congregation.
* Co-ordination with the Spanish Music Ministry for the occasional Bi-Lingual Liturgies.
* Co-ordination with the heads of the liturgical ministries to ensure coverage of all the liturgical ministries for all Masses.
* Meet with the Pastor regularly to discuss the musical matters in the parish.
Position Requirements
Must possess instrumental skills for the Organ as well as vocal skills, and knowledge of the Roman Catholic Liturgy.
Availability for Funerals and Weddings as needed during the week and on weekends.
Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000 Currently Organist Fees are $250 for Funeral and $300 for wedding. The parish averages 30-40 funerals a year and 10-20 weddings a year. 28hrs/Week includes Medical Benefits.
