The Bay at North Ridge is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our team of clinicians. Our facility is in Manitowoc, WI and is 94-beds with a specialized vent and trach units.

The Director of Nursing will plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Department in accordance with Company, State, and Federal regulations.

Position responsibilities for Director of Nursing (DON):

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
• Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
• Assist with discharge planning and perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies charting, etc.
• Assist in calculating the number of direct nursing care personnel on duty each shift and assigning enough licensed practical and/or registered nurses, and CNAs for each day to ensure that quality care is maintained.
• Delegate to nursing personnel the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties. Make daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments.

Qualifications for Director of Nursing (DON):

• Must have previous Director of Nursing (DON), ADON, or Unit Manager experience
• Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
• Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care.
