Foss Home & Village, a not-for-profit, mission driven, senior services provider since 1929, is searching for a Director of Nursing for our Memory Support, Post-Acute Rehab, and Long-term programs. This position will also have oversight of our assisted living program. Foss has an excellent reputation for quality care, and dedicated staff with low turnover.

Position Summary:
Has the responsibility to oversee, plan, organize, lead, direct and control all aspects of nursing care and services consistent with the Foss Mission, standards of nursing practice and regulatory requirements. This position will oversee all clinical aspects of our campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Leadership – Leads and directs all aspects of nursing care and services for Foss Home. Provides direct supervision for nursing program managers, serves as a mentor for nurses and supports the development of strong nursing managerial and leadership skills.

· Education – Provides oversight and coordination of staff education, development, and training to achieve clinical excellence. Supports continuous learning and coordinates professional growth opportunities for staff.

· Clinical Systems – Administers and monitors nursing care and services to achieve evidence-based clinical excellence. Develops and implements systems-based and standardized practices that adhere to nationally recognized standards of professional nursing practice.

· Quality Improvement – Oversees, develops, and evaluates systems and practices to support excellence in care. Promotes continuous quality improvement and analyzes systems for service enhancement opportunities. Ensures effective data collection, utilization, analysis, and interpretation to facilitate quality nursing care and services.

· Regulatory Compliance – Provides oversight for the survey process including coordination of survey preparation and facilitation of survey inspection to assure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

· Change Facilitation – Identifies, embraces, and leads organizational change to position Foss as a leader in the health care field. Facilitates strong communication and supports staff in understanding and accepting change.

· Staffing – Oversees and assures that qualified nursing staff are recruited and retained. Ensures appropriate levels of staffing are maintained to promote excellent nursing care and services.

· Customer Service – Ensures customer satisfaction and quality customer services through development and implementation of appropriate grievance tracking, follow-up, and corrective action.

· Policy and Procedure – Oversees the development and implementation of all policies, procedures, and practices to promote excellent care and services that support the Foss mission.

· Resource and Financial Manager – In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops and monitors the nursing budget to meet or exceed fiscal standards including census maximization.

· Innovation and Technology – Leads the development and implementation of new technology and innovation to promote excellent nursing care and services and promote resident quality of life.

· Resident Centered Care – Promotes individualized delivery of nursing care and services that improve quality of life for each resident in a home like environment.

· Performs other duties as assigned by management to meet changing job-related requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a current and valid Washington State Registered Nursing License.
  • 5 or more years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
  • 1 year in a supervisory capacity but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Possess the ability to handle complex issues and find creative solutions
  • Ability to think critically and apply sound nursing judgment
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e., Internet Research and Microsoft Suite)
