Your position as the Director of Sales will be responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and overseeing the sales and marketing strategy of the hotel. With this opportunity you have the ability to leave your personal footprint in all areas of this job.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement hotel-level sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase business volume during off-peak periods, and enhance the image of the hotel in the local community.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel marketing plan and business plan, and financial plans
  • Produce weekly, monthly reports and sales forecasts
  • Analyze current/potential market and sales trends and coordinate all activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share
  • Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the hotel and prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with groups below to generate new business and repeat business

o Officials and representatives of local community groups and companies

o Guests to guarantee their total satisfaction and return to hotel

o Airlines, wholesalers, corporate accounts, travel agencies, ad agencies within local, domestic and international markers

o Other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, private clubs, community groups, S.M.E.R.F. and local media)

Requirements

  • Advanced communication skills: demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees, and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand, and the Company
  • Mathematical skills: basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
  • Require a valid Driver's License
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
  • The Director of Sales must be customarily and regularly engaged away from the hotel

o Requires 30% of time outside of hotel conducting sales calls

o Ability to travel to attend workshops, trade shows, conventions, etc

Other

  • Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules and holidays to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Requires continual standing, sitting, and movement throughout the office area.
  • Confined work area with considerable traffic, frequent interruptions and noise from telephones, voices and office machines.
  • Periods of standing exceeding 50% of work shift are required.
  • Considerable repetitive motion of hands and wrists as relates to the use of computer keyboards is possible.
  • Grooming: As a Team Member, you project the hotel's image; therefore, it is important that you are well-groomed and dressed in a businesslike manner at all times
