Doctor Assistant / Optometric Technician Job at Sightrite
DocRite Inc, a healthcare company that provides in facility eye care visits for residents of nursing homes is looking for employees to work in various nursing homes in the Schenectady and surrounding Albany and Utica areas. Work as an optometric technician side by side with our optometrist. Learn how to use a fundus camera and do vision testing. Help residents select frames and measure PD and seg heights for bifocals (as needed). Someone with Optometric technician experience has the ideal background to work with our patient population though any healthcare background is a good match as well. We are also open to an Optician.
We provide full training on how to assist the doctor in all duties and the paperwork process. The candidate must be willing to work at the different nursing homes and have a way to get there- the ideal candidate has their own vehicle. We compensate for mileage and tolls,, and some of the drive time will be paid as work time.
You must be available Monday through Friday. The hours are approximately from 8 AM to 4 PM.
Job Specifications:
- At least High School Graduate
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the healthcare arena.
- Must have the behavioral sensitivity, maturity, diplomacy and tact in addressing complex situations and handling irate customers.
- Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
- Computer literate
- Loves to interact with elderly patients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
