Doughnut Machine Operator Job at Krispy Kreme

Making doughnuts requires preparing, weighing & measuring ingredients, and operating the donut machine. You will track how the equipment is doing (from the proofer to the fryer and beyond), keeping an eye on how the doughnuts are looking as they come off the line, and helping to pack them up when needed. You’ll also master your craft as you minimize waste, document the production specs and readings, and restock as you go. You’ll get to know the equipment well and be able to troubleshoot it or repair it when needed. You’ll also keep things clean and up to the highest food safety standards. As our Doughnut Maker, you’re looked to as a leader on the team, modeling the best communications skills, teamwork and respect of others.
SKILLS NEEDED:
The ideal candidate will have both baking and mechanical knowledge. This job requires being able to lift 50 pound bags up into a mixer. Precision measuring is a must. You will also need to be able to troubleshoot & repair machinery on occasion.
A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.

- Must be at least 18 years of age, required
- Experience with basic equipment repair & maintenance

Responsibilities:
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start/finish a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed, temperature)
- Feed raw ingredients & dough to semi-automated machines
- Complete proper production schedule daily, always striving to minimize waste
- Prepare all ingredients necessary for doughnut production - dough, glaze, fillings & icings using the correct formula.
- Fix equipment issues that might occur during the shift
- Inspect all doughnuts to spot any mistakes or flaws
- Regularly clean & perform preventative maintenance on doughnut-making equipment
- Maintain activity logs
- Maintain a pleasant & courteous demeanor
