Driver - Courier Services Job at UTMB Health
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year related experience. Completion of defensive driver course within 30 days of hire. Must possess current Texas Class “C” driver’s license.
Job Description:
To provide for the routine operation and minor maintenance of university vehicles in the transportation of materials or passengers.
Job Duties:
- Transfer patients and other assigned passengers on and/or off campus, assisting them in entering and exiting vehicle.
- Deliver and/or retrieves materials as instructed.
- Assists in the loading and unloading of materials from vehicle.
- Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers/cargo, destination, and fuel and oil consumption.
- Inspects condition of assigned vehicle on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires, and water.
- Reports any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisors.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Equipment:
Operation of vehicles, including trucks or vans.
Working Environment:
Lift and move of heavy objects. Drive vehicles under adverse weather conditions and have the ability to cope with emergency driving situations.
Work Schedule:
The work schedule with be Monday through Friday with occasional weekends/holidays.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
