DSHS TIA Automation and Process Streamlining Data Architect
The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and the Technology Innovation Administration (TIA) are looking for an Automation and Process Streamlining Data Architect to support Aging and Long Term Support Administration (ALTSA) and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).
Your team will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Self Service Reporting Solutions and Azure Data Architecture for Data Services. You’ll be instrumental in assessing, planning, documenting, researching, designing, advising, and influencing IT data resources in support of Data Services. You’ll work to improve our overall data structure and make it more consistent, automated, and incorporate new technologies where appropriate.
Some of What You’ll Do
- Independently research, identify, evaluate, prototype, and assess feasibility of emerging or applicable technologies focused on data related software products, methods, processes, best practices, and other techniques
- Create detailed plans and innovative strategies
- Gather requirements, design, facilitate, lead, and coordinate enterprise-wide data architecture initiatives
- Work to acquire, set-up, and configure technology tools
- Translate, design, interpret, and document definition of technical data architectural artifacts.
- Gather information from, work with, and support technical and non-technical co-workers
Who We Want in This Role
Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree with major study in systems/technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistical Analysis, Engineering, or a closely related field or equivalent work experience
AND
A minimum of 10 years work experience that could be obtained concurrently in areas such as:
- Database design
- Data Architecture
- Data Marts design and development
- Project planning
- Dashboard reporting
- Lead and mentor both business and technical staff
One year of advanced knowledge in data architecture.
Experience may be obtained concurrently with other experience.
AND
Five years of experience applying strategic expertise with comprehensive knowledge in IT operations and
architecture, understanding the future needs of the business and impacts of stakeholders, providing technical consulting on complex projects for new technology. Experience may be obtained concurrently with other experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Advance knowledge in SQL, Oracle, Data Integration tools such as SSIS/Informatica, Data reporting tools such as PowerBI/SSRS/Cognos/Business Objects, and OLAP tools such as SSAS/Cognos/Business Objects
- Strong understanding of systems operations, systems management, user support, and computing methodologies, infrastructure protocols, and business practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate across organizational units and work cultures.
- Detailed, analytical thinker.
