Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

The Education Programs Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of student educational programs within Michigan Humane. The Education Programs Coordinator will promote students interest in veterinary medicine and animal welfare-related careers while fostering students' commitment to our programs.


Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage relationships with high school and college-level academic institutions, as well as local student organizations and non-profits.
  • Coordinate high school internship programs, ensuring all appropriate internal and external parties are informed and involved in appropriate steps.
  • Coordinate student programs to foster interest in animal welfare careers with Michigan Humane.
  • Partner with Penn Foster to enroll and provide support to students entering and working through the scholarship program.
  • Periodically check in with Penn Foster students to track progress and provide guidance through the program.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing events related to student tours and programming.
  • Attend student tours, providing information related to our student programming as needed.
  • Solicit feedback from students and organizations following student tours and programs, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Regularly follow up with past students on career opportunities with Michigan Humane, partnering with Senior Recruiting Coordinator on potential candidates.
  • Attend conferences and career fairs to connect with attendees regarding student program and future career opportunities with Michigan Humane.
  • Run and create reports on outcomes, participation and progress toward program goals.

  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills


Acquired Knowledge:


  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Education or a similar field of study preferred
  • 1+ year of administration, education or human resource experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Office and Excel
