Job Description

The Assembler III is responsible for inspecting circuit boards for conformance to Control Products Inc. (CPI) and IPC-610 Class 1 standard to ensure quality and must be able to perform advanced soldering skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspecting the work product for adherence to the CPI and IPC-610 Class 1 standards.
  • Touching up or reworking to bring the product into compliance.
  • Examining and performing advanced soldering processes when needed.
  • Testing some products and operating machines as part of the job title.
  • Installing mechanical and electrical components including the operation of basic assembly equipment, soldering leaded components, and removal of pins from headers.
  • Providing initial counts of bags and labels for orders (taking inventory).
  • Finding the correct materials from the packaging area.
  • Bagging and packaging the product and placing it in a box with the shipping label attached.
  • Completing MO forms, recording of MOs in shipping log, and delivery to the shipping area.
  • Reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department team-lead or supervisor.
  • Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition by performing daily organization and cleanup of the work area.
  • Participating in continuous process improvement.
  • Proposing changes to and taking part in the review of manufacturing procedures.
  • Following safety guidelines and reporting unsafe conditions to your team-lead or supervisor.
  • Completing tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Carrying out multiple production tasks to allow for effective job rotation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1-2 years soldering experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Advanced soldering skills. Must pass soldering test.
  • Comprehending polarity, orientation, and IPC 610 Class 1 and Class 2 standards.
  • Strong focus on detail.
  • Good eye/hand coordination.
  • Capacity to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Basic mechanical acumen.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Capacity to multi-task.
  • Results driven.
  • Skill to read and understand basic work instructions and identify packing specifications.
  • Ability to read, speak and write fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years soldering experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • While executing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for an extended period and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May require the use of a microscope.
  • Required to walk while carrying trays, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Work Environment

  • Employee is required to work near others (assembly line).
  • Overtime may be required.
