Offering more than 100 certificate, associate and bachelor’s degree programs, Daytona State College (DSC) has responded to the education and workforce training needs in our region for more than 60 years. The college enrolls nearly 25,000 students annually at its seven instructional sites, with graduates serving in critical fields including health care, emergency services, business, education, hospitality, engineering, technology and more.
We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as an Electrician.
Required Qualifications: This position requires a high school diploma or GED and two (2) years of recent and verifiable commercial/industrial related experience. Must have own transportation to report to other College locations as assigned. Must be forklift certified within one year of employment.
Desired Qualifications: Journeyman Electrician License is preferred.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $16.11 with an approximate annual amount of $33,500.
Working Hours: Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. however, various shifts and locations may be assigned based on the needs of the College. Candidates must be able to report for additional hours, weekends, evenings, and/or holidays as needed and/or required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains and repairs interior and exterior building lighting. Maintains and repairs parking lot and pathway lighting.
- Maintains, cleans and repairs minor electronic equipment.
- Drives College vehicles and operates golf carts and light trucks to retrieve/return supplies, equipment, tools, etc.
- Attends staff meetings to exchange information. Attends professional seminars and/or conferences to improve professional skills and maintain required licenses/certifications.
- Gathers, verifies, and maintains information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for assigned area.
- Assists Senior Electricians with projects as assigned.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: This position requires walking, standing, stooping, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting all of the time, and exerting 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis. This position will be exposed to indoor and outdoor temperatures and work heights up to 40 feet approximately. The successful candidate will have the ability to multi-task, utilize time management and be well organized and flexible. Additionally, the candidate must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, work independently and/or in groups. Candidate will use a computer to record work time, retrieve work order requests and submit requests for leave through established software applications.
