Our team needs an electrician with at least 8 years of experience to come join our team! You could be working either large, long term new construction projects in Downtown Detroit (apartments, condos and the like) or doing high-end, custom remodeling work in multi-million dollar homes in Grosse pointe - if either of those appeals to you, we can put you to work on the side you're inclined to.
These are stable positions with a long-established company (30 years!). We're looking for people who are ready to join a great team of other electricians and stick around for years to come - we currently have about 22 other electricians on staff (4 masters + 5 journeyman). We need another skilled, experienced team member to keep the company growing and thriving.
You'll be expected to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. Your job will primarily involve installation/new construction work on either very high-end residential projects or large multi-family buildouts. We expect candidates to have at least some experience in a wide range of electrical devices and systems.
A great candidate for us can:
- Execute plans for both rough and finish electrical systems
- Ideally is versatile enough to work in Residential & Commercial jobs
- Prepare and assemble conduit and connect wiring through it
- Ensure code compliance; expected to have knowledge of NEC (national electric code) as well as local/state electrical requirements
- Adhere to OSHA, MIOSHA and Company procedures, guidelines and standards
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify issues or malfunctions, and then make the necessary repairs and modifications
- Transportation of yourself to and from job site each day, 5 days a week, in a reliable and on time manner
- Bring and maintain your own supply of the appropriate & necessary hand tools
Skills
- Proven experience as an electrician - You do not need to have a journeyman card, but at least 8 years of solid electrical experience is expected if you are applying to this role.
- Some experience in commercial electrical systems is expected
- Demonstrable familiarity and ability with all relevant power tools and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
- Good physical condition, ability to work 40 hrs per week, be on your feet 8 hrs/day, lift 50 lbs, work at heights, maneuver ladders safely and securely.
- Diploma in relevant vocational training, a successfully completed apprenticeship, and/or Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician certification is not necessary but will be considered an advantage and given preference in placement

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
