Summary:
The Projects Process Engineer position supports Project Managers and Project Engineers in mid and large-capital projects; the position requires the knowledge of Processing in midstream facilities, including Cryogenic Gas Processing Plants, Fractionation, LPG Chilling, Dehydration, Liquid Handling, and Gas and Liquid treating. The process engineer will also take on the Project Management role in mid-size projects. Planning, design, analytical problem solving, decision making, and good communication skills are necessary for the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process Project Engineering
- Perform upfront engineering on new amine treaters, condensate stabilizers, glycol dehydration, cryogenic gas processing plants, and NGL export terminals;
- Design and maintain project process simulations using Aspen, HYSYS, or Promax;
- Develop design specifications for all major equipment;
- Support project manager in design and drawing reviews and approvals;
- Lead commissioning and troubleshooting efforts;
- Lead PHA’s and LOPA’s;
- Assist in OSHA PSM required tasks (Process safety Information, resolve open PHA action items, Cause and Effects, etc.)
- Provide support to others and develop solutions while following engineering standards, code compliance, proper company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.
- Ability to interpret and apply design codes and regulations.
- Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering knowledge base and proficiencies.
- Project Management
- In project manager role, implement entire project cycle for small to mid-sized plant projects including scope, design, development, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and project completion.
- Implement entire project cycle for growth capital projects including scope and design development, cost estimation preparation and submittals, material procurement, execution and construction oversite, and project completion.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering Discipline, Chemical or Mechanical Engineer preferred
- 3-6 plus years experience in combined engineering and/or project management
- Previous experience in Processing industry
- Professional Engineer License viewed as a plus
- Microsoft Products
- Engineering Programs – Promax, HYSYS, CAD
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Engineer level requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering disciplineand 6-10 years of relevant job related experience
- The Staff Engineer level requires Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant job related experience
- The Principal Engineer level requires Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 12+ years of relevant job related experience with a strong preference for a PE license

- Normal office working conditions and field work
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
