The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager who will support all aspects of the maintenance program in the building. The ideal candidate will supervise, train, and inspect the performance of Engineering associate ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel's standards. Work closely with Director of Engineering and Assistant Director of Engineering in scheduling work and setting priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
- Must be able to participate in and leads recruitment and talent development for the division/department, to meet both current and future needs
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Being able to train the team on the usage of the new equipment.
- Act in capacity of ADOE/DOE during his/her absence.
- Hands on ability to resolve issues and outstanding assignments as needed and in emergency situations
- Develops and updates policies and manuals, as related to the division/department, for implementation in the field, while ensuring compliance to the same for consistency across the group
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
- Minimum four years in ultra-luxury in building maintenance, electrical work, plumbing and refrigeration, preferably in a union environment
- Working knowledge of plumbing codes, electrical codes, national/local fire codes, local mechanical codes, water treatment program, blue prints, plumbing and wiring schematics, power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades
- Strong command of both spoken and written English with fluency in other languages preferred
- Excellent interpersonal relationship with positive attitude and ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 50 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding
