General Summary:
The Snacks Engineering Project Delivery Manager will lead and manage all functions and activities required to take a project from the conceptual phase to successful delivery of success criteria. The Snacks Engineering Project Delivery Manager will lead and manage all functions and activities required to take a project from the conceptual phase to successful delivery of success criteria. This role will have overall responsibility for all project Engineering activities and deliverables for an assigned portfolio of projects. Responsibilities will include:
- Executing front end feasibility studies for projects including commercial initiatives, capacity projects, cost savings projects and supply network optimization projects.
- Partnering with corporate Engineering, plant Engineering, R&D and supply chain functions to develop and deliver technology solutions needed to meet project success criteria.
- Development, implementation and execution of project plans for assigned projects.
- Responsible for execution of all Engineering work processes in assigned projects and accountable to ensure proper Capital Management processes are executed in compliance with Company Policy.
- Professional development of Engineering teams under his/her responsibility.
- This role will develop advanced technical mastery in Snacks manufacturing and equipment technologies.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Drives creative and breakthrough capital projects from conception to project close-out by leading the teams that plan, implement, and manage such projects. Ensures projects are completed in scope, on budget, and on time meeting established technical and manufacturing success criteria.
- Directs and coordinates fabrication, installation and commissioning activities to ensure equipment and systems conform to engineering design meeting project success criteria.
- Directs and coordinates modifications required to site facility and utilities required to deliver projects assigned.
- Partners with Suppliers to research and submit recommendations for equipment purchases within project scope.
- Tracks key performance indicators for assigned project portfolio; identifies and communicates issues to senior management and implements appropriate corrective action to deliver results.
- Explains and enforces Company policies pertaining to safety, quality, and workplace conduct.
- Ensures assigned projects are adequately staffed; this is done through assignment planning of internal Engineering resources, partnering with plant and corporate Engineering resources, and retaining external resources where appropriate.
- Partners with Plant Engineering and Manufacturing teams where projects are assigned to develop capital plans and project budgets.
- Partners with Plant Engineering and Manufacturing teams to provide technical support in areas of expertise that reside within section team.
- Develops advanced technical mastery in snacks technologies and Engineering delivery methodologies within his/her team.
Job Complexity:
- Must ensure projects are delivered in compliance with Company Standard Engineering and Capital Management work processes and policies.
- Must work effectively with cross functional project teams and direct Engineering activities across central, business and plant Engineering resources.
- Must be able to simultaneously prioritize and execute multiple projects all of which may in different stages of development or implementation.
- Must be a highly analytical strategic thinker who can understand the big-picture business needs and translate them to specific execution scope for the Engineering project delivery.
- Must be able to perform complex Engineering and statistical calculations to solve equipment process issues and to optimize production processes.
- Must build and leverage positive, cross-functional relationships to address identified gaps and implement best practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum education required: B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
- Years of relevant experience: 7-10 years of leadership experience with Engineering, preferably in the food processing/packaging or CPG industry.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of project management, writing capital projects, and general engineering.
- Knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical systems, packaging equipment and materials, ladder logic, P&ID's, and mechanical blueprints
- Proficiency in Windows-based software applications (Word, Excel, Access) and ERP systems (previous SAP experience preferred).
- Familiar with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, FM requirements and EPA regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities; promotes engagement & diversity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate at any organizational level
- Effective abilities in organizing and deductive thinking
- Effective presentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$105,000.00 - $194,400.00
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
