Responsibilities
Quality system implementation
- Engineering BOM development and support
- ERP system administrator
- Auditing management for ISO 9000 business compliance
- Create manual and procedures and SOP for the whole organization to support ISO certification
- Customer’s and supplier’s interface to monitor quality system health
- Establishing metrics to measure quality, CI and EH&S
- Provide internal training to crate internal auditors and sustain a culture of CI
- Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
- Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods
- Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct
- Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality benchmarks
- Create standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations
- Identify quality control processes to ensure criteria are met at all times
- Execute tests to check final product adherence to the company standards
- Record findings and relay this information to the production team
- Brainstorm ideas to increase productivity and performance of the production line while maintaining accuracy in quality
- Make crucial decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality
Oversee production to ensure conformity in final product processing
- Examining the quality of raw materials that are used in production.
- Monitoring and evaluating internal production processes.
- Evaluating the final output of products to determine their quality.
- Rejecting products that fail quality standards.
- Engaging with customers and gathering product feedback.
- Producing statistical reports on quality standards.
- Evaluating product recalls.
- Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
- Devise and review specifications for products or processes
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
- Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
- Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
- Developing process enhancement strategies.
- Investigating shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes.
- Establishing norms and standards of company performance.
- Training, mentoring, and guiding team members in new processes.
- Staying up-to-date with developments in management and process optimization.
- Prior experience as a quality manager or Engineering Manager or senior quality/manufacturing engineer in a production processing environment
- Familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes
- Proficient in computer technology and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Able to positively influence others
- Great team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Degree in Engineering
- Quality control certification advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Data analysis and statistical aptitude.
- A sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes and organizational structures.
The compensation for the Engineering Quality Manager typically ranges from an annual salary of $100,000 to 150,000 based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Those with more experience or specialized skills may be offered a higher salary within this range.
