Slayden Constructors Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Construction Estimator to be based out of our company headquarters located in Stayton, Oregon (15 minutes East of Salem).

The Construction Estimator will prepare cost estimates at different levels of design for various delivery systems such as Construction Manager / General Contractor (CMGC), Design Build, and Hard Bid. Projects will consist of wastewater treatment facilities, potable water treatment facilities, hydro-power facilities, fisheries, pipelines, and various water infrastructures ranging from $1-100 million dollars.

Organization, attention to detail, ability to work within tight time constraints and under pressure; and ability to work within a proposal team are all important for proper performance of required duties

EDUCATION

Possess a 4-year Construction Engineering Management, Engineering degree, or equivalent field experience in construction project environments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION

• Serve as the point of contact for assigned tasks and coordinate the parameters of the estimate with other discipline estimators.
• Develop cost estimates in a manner and level of detail consistent with the project goals.
• Obtain and analyze subcontractor quotes for construction projects and ensure compliance with construction documents.
• Develop and maintain positive subcontractor and supplier relationships.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline desirable.

• Able to read and decipher construction plans & specifications.
• Strong computer and math skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, specifically highly proficient in Excel.
• A strong, energetic work ethic and quick learner.
