As a Junior UX Designer, you’ll join a growing team and leverage your knowledge and/or experience conceptualizing the workflows of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). You will identify the appropriate user research method to conduct with key stakeholders and turn findings into designs that demonstrate your understanding of their needs and pain points. At your core, you will have a passion for user research, defining improvement strategies, and discovering new ways to iterate on solutions – all with a highly collaborative and flexible approach to grow shared understanding of user goals, tasks, and workflows.

Program Mission…

This program delivers a mix of Lean-Agile, DevSecOps, and Human-Centered Design (HCD) support including product management, user research, UI/UX design, and Agile facilitation in support of the modernization of acquisition processes and tools. You’ll join a team that embraces a Lean-Agile / DevSecOps culture to promote innovation, measurement and continuous improvement, and high-quality support services delivering business value and outcomes to our customers and partners.

Requirements…

  • 1-3 years of professional work experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • 1+ years of experience with wireframing and prototyping software such as Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, and Figma.
  • At least 1+ years of user research and design experience as a key, hands-on designer on an Agile team through the development cycle of web, mobile, API and/or software applications.
  • Ability to assist with user research and user testing methods.
  • Some experience or knowledge evaluating Section 508 compliance.
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients.
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to proactively communicate and collaborate with customers, business analysts, and technical team.
  • Work with collaborators and stakeholders to create shared understanding of design strategies and prioritize implementation accordingly.

  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and users, with the ability to gather feedback to apply experience with user research, user interface design, and usability validation.
  • Experience with or knowledge contributing to Agile ceremonies/meetings; providing demonstrations of research and design and contributing to the Agile team wherever required.
  • Experience with or knowledge analysis tools such as Google Analytics and Dovetail
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Experience with or knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.

Years of Experience: 1-3 years of professional work experience (see more under “What We’d Like to See”).

Education: Associate degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, etc.) preferred or equivalent experience. A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of professional experience.

Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust/Suitability, which includes a requirement of U.S. residency for three out of the last five years.
