Eastern States Construction Service is in search of a career-oriented individual interested in joining the Estimating/Project Management team. This is an excellent career opportunity for a Junior Estimator looking to grow and develop their career. This is an entry to mid-level Estimator position and will work under the guidance of Senior Estimators. This position is responsible to coordinate total estimating effort relevant to assigned projects which includes:

• Estimate projects for bid submittal by reviewing plans and specifications, calculating quantities, performing takeoffs, gathering subcontractor quotes and submittals, constructing the bid package and creating the bid submittal.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings for projects awarded to ensure communication and coordination between project managers, field, and office support. Work with operations staff to coordinate appropriate construction methods, equipment, and staffing needs.
• Obtain necessary permits and licensing.
• Manage costs by tracking labor, equipment, and materials.
• Manage billing with Project Cost Accountant to ensure accuracy of invoicing, preparation of payables, accounts receivable collections, approval of accounts payable and management of over/under billing monthly.

The idea candidate will have a college degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and/or three years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). In addition, to be successful candidate must be detail oriented, be able to define problems and draw valid conclusions, have a strong work ethic and time management skills, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, deadline driven, and the ability to read construction plans.
