GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Event Staff Supervisors oversee, direct, and provide guidance, either directed or personal action, to event staff for appropriate responses to field situations based on company and/or venue policies and procedures. The supervisor would work with management at multiple venues including but not limited to FedEx Field, University of Maryland, Audi Field, Nationals Park, Capital One Arena, Entertainment and Sports Arena, Royal Farms Arena, etc.
The duties below reflect the minimum requirements for this position.
- Maintain valid and current DC and Maryland security guard licenses
- Teach and enforce operating standards
- Serves as a principal source of information on rules and procedures governing security and other event management operations
- Communicate with and “brief” event staff
- Serve where needed or as support to other tasked team members at each event including: gate posts, barricades, roaming, directing guests, locker room supervision, contraband searches, bag checks, ticket scanning, issue uniforms and sign in/out staff
- Protect persons and property as directed
- Coordinate with facility staff as appropriate
- Conduct inspections of various posts to ensure on-duty staff are properly performing their assigned tasks
- Maintain a log of all activities and incidents occurring during the event on company and venue required incident report forms
- Monitor, assure and document that all staff receive required or needed breaks
- Familiarization with prevention and identification of and response to heat illness
- Prepare all summary reports and turn in to branch timely
- Respond to conflicts to provide resolution
- Respond to emergencies, including assisting with evacuations
- Assist HR with interviews, orientations and other company required trainings
- Must be willing and able to work all venues CSC-DC serves
- Performs other related duties as assigned
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May use event vehicles “golf carts” when provided for events subject to completion company training
- Oversee care and return of all issued equipment
- Walking significant distances, including up and down stairs, as may be needed to roam throughout the venue
- Reliable transportation to venues throughout the DC, Maryland and Virginia area
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Four years of related work experience, two years of general experience in security, law enforcement or military police and a high school level education AND
- At least two years supervisory experience managing groups of 10
