Executive Editor - Adult Non Fiction Job at The Rowman and Littlefield Publishing Group
The Rowman and Littlefield Publishing Group Lanham, MD 20706
Rowman & Littlefield seeks an energetic, experienced editor to acquire adult non-fiction books in some of the following categories: health, self-help, psychology, family and relationships, pop culture, and business. Ideal candidates will have experience with one or more of these categories, a proven track record of list building, and a network of authors and agents.

Location: Lanham, MD or Remote
Responsibilities
- Generating ideas for new titles, evaluating proposals, and soliciting market feedback
- Creating editorial board documents, including budgets and P&L statements, and presenting projects to the editorial board
- Creating and negotiating publishing agreements
- Overseeing the publishing process for each title, including serving as primary liaison with the production, design, marketing, publicity, and sales departments.
- Managing author and agent relationships
- Supervising and delegating work to an assistant editor and supervising one or more early career acquisitions editor(s)
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or humanities
- Minimum 7+ years of proven book acquisitions experience
- An active network of authors and agents
- Exceptional ability to manage deadlines
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Knowledge of MS Office suite
