FAB Lab/ STEM LAB
Middle Village Prep is a 6th through 8th grade charter school in Middle Village Queens. We are located on the Christ the King High School Campus with a focus on serving the surrounding community. With a 75% passing rate, the right candidate for this position must have the following:
A Fab Lab was built to introduce students to the following STEM applications:
- Robotics
- Digital Media
- Coding
- 3D Printing
- Electricity and Circuit building
- Debate
- Visual Arts
- Drone Flying
- AI and VR Knowledge
- Next Generation Learning: curriculum with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) -focused enrichment activities to prepare students to succeed in jobs of the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct instruction to classrooms of approximately 30 students in rigorous lessons aligned with the Next Generation science standards:
- Commit to preparing every student for graduation.
- Knowledge of Google applications 2D/3D software such as TINKERCAD
- Facilitate student learning by designing lessons, leading small groups, and conferencing with students.
- Implement frequent formative assessments, in addition to summative assessments and analyze student achievement data to inform and personalize instruction to meet the needs of students.
- Constantly review student level data to inform instruction and student groupings.
- Create lessons via a mix of teacher created lessons and digital/on-line supports.
- Willingness to build relationships with students and families.
- Maintain the school lab and all its equipment.
- Working with and accommodating students with IEP’s and students who are English Language Learners.
- Can think outside of the textbook and show students multiple ways to solve math by making the learning process interesting and fun.
- Will be able to work in an environment where team teaching is necessary to build a strong foundation with students.
- Have knowledge of smartboard and other technology to enhance the learning experience in the classroom.
- Willing to attend workshops if necessary to enhance education.
- Have knowledge of tracking Data and using assessments to help target students who are at risk.
- Collaborate and communicate with the Director of Curriculum and Principal
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,000.00 per year
