Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Fabrication Inspector III in Houma, Louisiana.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for fitted and welded component in-process and final inspections in accordance with Oil States Shop Routers, Shop Work Instructions, and Inspection and Test Plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the success of meeting Oil States Quality Control Goals and Objectives.
  • Understanding of Oil States Shop Routers, Shop Work Instructions, and Inspection and Test Plans to monitor production process.
  • Interpret Industry Standards, Oil States procedures, and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Monitor fabrication process and perform in-process inspections.
  • Monitor weld process to applicable weld procedures for all essential parameters.
  • Review of in-process documentation such as material traceability, shop routers, weld procedures, heat maps, weld maps, and NDE documentation.
  • Schedule and monitor NDE activities performed by third party supplier. Review and approve NDE records.
  • Record nonconformances (NCRs) in Oil States NCP Web based system.
  • Perform leak test on reservoirs, manifolds, and piping.
  • Perform final visual and dimensional inspections of welded components per Industry Standards (AWS, ASME, Other), Oil States procedures, and engineering drawings.
  • Preparation of final documentation including inspection reports and final acceptance.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with third-party Inspectors for customer witness / hold points.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of final acceptance data packages.
  • Provide support and guidance to production.
  • Perform in process NDE inspections as required.
  • Perform other duties requested by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance to all safety guidelines and encourage others to do the same.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Generally, a minimum of 5 years’ experience performing Quality Control dimensional inspections and / or three years manufacturing and welding experience.
  • CWI certification desired.
  • NDE experience or knowledge desired.
  • Ability to operate tools of the trade, tape measures, weld gages, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Must have strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand decimal tolerances.
  • Able to multitask and follow complex instructions.
  • Must possess skills in Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must be willing to travel when required by the company.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Pulling/pushing, bending, standing, throwing, kneeling, balancing, carrying, sitting, walking, crawling, crouching, reaching, climbing, unnatural body positioning, and working in a confined space are all encountered throughout the workday
  • Lifting requirement of 45 pounds
  • Non-climate controlled environment
