Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsible for student and family re-engagement and engagement. Assists schools with family and student partnerships, communicates with families in a language they can understand and ensures families and students are aware of engagement and re-engagement practices in the education system. Provides assistance and support relevant to engagement and re-engagement to staff, including communication and conducting home visits. Develops and promotes consistent and positive community relations among various district and community clientele. Cultural mediator, interpretation certification, or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Serve a network of schools , and regularly communicate with school-based leadership
Is there a need to specify variable hours? For example, home visits may happen in the evenings or during the school day.
Provide resources to families and students, and obtain insights and feedback from families and students. Capitalize on student and family strengths and expertise to maximize engagement and re-engagement.
Assist with school based family engagement and partnering strategies, and ensure families have necessary information for authentic engagement
Provide information about school and community resources and services to families.
Collaborate with school teams, LCE, Student Assistance, other teams as relevant, and truancy specialists to coordinate student and family support and relationship building.
Act as a cultural liaison between parents, students, schools, staff, and community, and work with staff to facilitate social and cultural understanding
Facilitate communication (in a language families can understand) and understanding between families, school, and the community while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Ensure culturally responsive efforts to re-engage and partner with families and students from culturally, linguistically, socio-economically diverse backgrounds
