FANUC America is currently searching for a Field Service Engineer in the Hoffman Estates, IL area to join our team.

Reporting to our Hoffman Estates, IL office you will provide support to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Upper Peninsula of Michigan with on-site repair, troubleshooting and /or maintenance services for CNC s and related system peripheral equipment. As an incoming associate engineer you will learn our products, services, and what makes our customer service #1. Comprehensive on-the-job training and support, as well as 3 weeks of classroom training in our Chicagoland office is provided.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of CNC s, control motors and drives, industrial lasers and precision machines
  • Provide hands-on technical assistance and customer support
  • Report daily to the Service Center Manager to update status and availability
  • Requires traveling to customer sites within a region by auto and/or air with some overnight travel (on average up to 12 nights per month)
  • Ability to travel to customer sites up to 5 hours at a time
  • Some air travel required

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

  • Associates degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field; Bachelors of Electrical Engineering, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a technical customer focused/field service position
  • Electrical/Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Requires a valid state driver's license and minimum 5 years violation free
  • Familiarity with CNC or PLC is a plus
