We currently have a need for a Field Technician to provide onsite support for voice services and implementing system capabilities. The ideal candidate will have three years' experience.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Maintains an understanding of telephony (Norstar, BCM, Mitel, Panasonic) and preferably Cisco telephony.
- Monitors effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; assists with development and implementation strategies for improving the efficiency, reliability and performance of these systems.
- Collaborates with Network and NOC team to analyze network activity and network related issues to discover and prevent systematic errors.
- Recommends and/or train end users to improve system availability and overall performance.
- Engage with client's different departments to resolve trouble tickets
COMPETENCY:
- Works independently, while demonstrating a collaborative work style. Acts with a high degree of accountability and commitment to meeting customer and management expectations.
- Strong decision-making skills
- Strong telephony knowledge
- Good Customer Service experience
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience in networking and/or voice communication systems
- Network switching and routing as related to Unified Communications a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Successful completion of at least 2 years post high school training in a related field i.e. electronics, data, or telecommunications is desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English and Spanish a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Working independently within a network of schools in the Bronx.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: TBD
TRAVEL: Several locations. Will need a car.
