*Job Description*
The Finance Controller is a critical position that reports directly to the CEO of the company and works side by side with Human Resources. The Finance Controller assists the CEO in overseeing all Accounting functions for the company including developing, communicating and implementing Accounting policies and procedures.
The Finance Department is a 2-person department, with the Controller in a direct supervisory role of the Accounts Payable Clerk, and is in constant communication with restaurant managers in the field.
The Finance Controller works hand in hand with our 3rd party accountants, manages the daily and monthly workflow, and is responsible for a number of tasks, including:

• Verify daily cash and credit card deposits
• Directs all daily, weekly, monthly, period-end and end of year activities
• Oversees all AP functions, including completion of credit applications and W-9 entry
• Reviews all accounts payable entries for accuracy
• Supervises credit card payments and paid out reconciliations and ensuring that all receipts are accounted for
• Track all accounts receivable
• Completes final reviews (behind restaurant general managers) of bi-weekly payroll
• Cash management functions including cash flow, cash projections and budgeting
• Prepare and submit year-end vendor 1099s
• Files Monthly Sales Taxes to Government entities
• Provides sales figures to Corporate Franchisors and Landlords
• Manages Chargebacks, Gift Card Fraud, and any unauthorized charges both as a vendor and consumer
• Ensure that all businesses are in compliance with permits and licenses
• Performs filing of property tax renditions and reviewal of assessments
• Help create and implement new and ongoing finance and accounting directives
• Create training guides and how-to communications for varies aspects of the Accounting department and Restaurant Field Operations
• Trains, develops and ensures that all team members are completing their daily task
• Provides respectful feedback to all aspects of the organization
• Performs other related duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for the Finance Controller position will have at least 5 years of accounting experience. The candidate will also possess the following: *Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field

• Strong knowledge of Balance Sheets and Income Statements
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, chart of accounts and sub-account structure
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations, cash and debt accounts, fixed assets and payroll taxes
• Experience working with outside auditors
• Strong knowledge of personal computer, software applications and cloud based filing systems. MS Excel experience necessary.
• Must be able to multi-task and work with a variety of people
• Ability to work through change and strategically align with organization’s goals
• Ability to meet deadlines and change focus on short notice
• Must be self-motivated, self- starter with little to no supervision.
• Be able to lift 10 pounds, work in a seated position for extended periods of time, sometimes up to 10 hours
