Firefighter/EMT Job at VILLAGE OF WHISPERING PINES
The Village of Whispering Pines (VWP) is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual for the position of firefighter/emergency medical technician (EMT).
This individual participates in the operation of fire apparatus, firefighting, equipment, and facilities maintenance. The employee also participates in emergency medical response as a NC EMT Basic. Work requires that the employee stay abreast of state-of-the-art fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical procedures, techniques, and equipment and requires the employee to incorporate the necessary changes into in-service training. The ability to make effective decisions under pressure is required in all aspects of work.
The successful candidate shall be at least twenty (20) years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid North Carolina driver’s license, NC Firefighter II and EMT certification.
The VWP is a drug free employment environment, and all applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical exam, drug test and a criminal background check prior to employment. Applicant must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees.
This is a full-time position with an annual starting salary hiring range of $36,292 - $45,365, depending upon education, experience, and certifications.
This is a shift work position that includes a 24-hour shift that includes holidays and weekends.
