San Diego Humane Society is hiring a full-time Fleet Manager for our Support Services team!

What you’ll do:

  • Establish and monitor purchasing, operational and replacement strategies and practices for most cost-effective operation.
  • Oversee fleet records of repairs and maintenance, schedule regular preventative maintenance on fleet, and order urgent or emergency repairs as needed.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Fleet related policies.
  • Develop and implement training modules for operators, vehicles and equipment use and care.
  • In partnership with Safety Manager, ensure all CHP, DOT, and OSHA regulatory standards are met at all times.
  • Partner with relevant leaders to develop and administer fleet safety program, including regular safety reporting of driver behavior to department leaders and tracking and reporting of accident information.
  • Partner with Emergency Response Manager and Resource Coordinator to oversee and implement Fleet-related policies, procedures, maintenance and training related to the Humane Law Enforcement Department, roughly half of the total fleet.
  • Maintain DMV records such as annual registration renewals, SMOGs, non-ops, address changes, etc.
  • Investigate and tracks vehicle accidents and work with insurance carriers to resolve such items.

What we’re looking for:

  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in fleet management required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.
  • BA Degree in logistics, accounting, public administration, business administration or automotive technology or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
  • Certification such as National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA), Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP), or North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) preferred.

Location: Based at our San Diego campus, with expected travel between campuses and in the field.

Pay: Starting salary range is between $64,480 – $80,600 per year. The actual salary is determined by your related education and experience.
