A. Summary of Job:

• Loading and unloading scenery, maintaining and repairing the equipment for the fly system and scenery, building and setting up stage scenery, raising and lowering suspended scenery during a performance on cue, operating the mechanical components of the stage, and storing and setting up scenery.

• Varies, mostly swing

• 6 day work week

D. Employee Conduct Code:

• Employee will report to work on time, adhere to behavior, dress and grooming guidelines. Provide courteous and friendly service to all Eldorado guests and employees. Promote a safe work environment and report any problems as they arise. The employee has an affirmative duty to stay current with and apply all pertinent company and departmental policies, procedures and rules.

E. Essential Functions: Includes but is not limited to the following:

• In charge of operating the counterweight rigging system using a traditional pulley system that involves manual/physical labor.

• Responsible for the safe rigging, flying, and operation of all set pieces, drapery, electrics, speakers, pipes, and any other item that is suspended 20’ over the stage and/or audience.

• Understand the very high degree of safety and attention to detail required when rigging and planning to rig a production.

• Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other required equipment.

• Works in close co-operation and communication with the stage manager, heads of carpentry, electrics, audio and any other departments that may be affected by this work, such as paint and wardrobe.

• Evaluates the set and lighting design, in consultation with the stage manager for rigging requirements.

• Creates a Fly Line Plot, if one does not exist, and checks existing plots for accuracy

• Plans the rigging and masking accordingly

• Generates inventories of stock wire, ropes, crimps, tools, fittings and flying hardware on hand.

• Determines the appropriate methods and materials to execute the rigging, in consultation with the Stage Manager.

• Informs Stage Manager of changes necessary to the planned rigging well in advance of the load-in

• Makes regular inspections of the fly/rigging system

F. Certificates, Degrees or Licenses Required

• Must have a permit to work in the United States.

• Must have flyman/rigging certification and experience

G. Location of Job Duties:

• Eldorado Showroom

H. Work Environment:

• Hectic work environment

• Ability to remain calm under pressure while adapting to changing conditions.

J. Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

• Must be able to adjust promptly and calmly to change

• Is able to balance competing priorities

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

• Must be able to work 20 plus feet in the air

• Must be able to work in confined spaces

K. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and/or Experience Required:

• Must be alert, quick and responsive.

• Display strong decisive and high leadership experience

• At least 5 years flyman/rigging experience required

L. Other Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications:

• Must be over 21 years of age to work on casino floor.
